ITINERARY

DAY 1 Arrive Paris

On arrival at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport you are met and transferred to your hotel.  Tonight, after a welcome drink with our Tour Director and travelling companions,  why not enjoy an illuminations tour?

DAY 2 Paris - Beaune - Avignon

It's an early start this morning as we drive along the 'Autoroute du Soleil', past Auxerre and through the vineyards  of Burgundy to the Rhône Valley. We make a stop in medieval Beaune,  before we reach Avignon, for the night. On arrival an orientation tour shows us the Palace of the Popes and the famous Bridge. (BB D)

DAY 3 Avignon - Pont du Gard - Les Baux - Arles - Aix-en-Provence

This morning we're off to the 2,000 year old aqueduct, the 'Pont du Gard'.  Then we visit Les Baux-de-Provence village on foot before driving through  Les Alpilles and Van Gogh country to Arles. Here we will see the Roman  amphitheatre and Romanesque Cathedral. Next, on to the spa-town of Aix-en-Provence,  where tonight we enjoy dinner in a local restaurant. (BB) (HD)

DAY 4 Aix-en-Provence - St. Tropez - Nice (2)

A scenic drive through the Maures Hills brings us to St. Tropez with time for film star spotting! Our highlight is a boat cruise from St. Tropez to Ste. Maxime. When we disembark  we rejoin our coach for the drive to Nice. Tonight, we enjoy a dinner of local specialities in a typical restaurant. (BB) (HD)

DAY 5 Nice at leisure & Monte

Carlo Excursion An orientation of  Nice includes a drive along the Promenade des Anglais and a visit to the Place Massena. Then on to Monaco to visit Monte Carlo and its Casinos! (BB)

DAY 6 Nice - Cannes - Lyon

Drive through Cannes along the Boulevard de la Croisette, seeing the Film Festival Centre. Then via Manosque  and the Durance Valley. Passing the Luberon mountain, we reach Sisteron on  the Route Napoleon and drive along the Col de la Croix to Lyon. (BB)

DAY 7 Lyon - Dijon - Paris (2)

Today via the vineyards of Macon to Dijon famous for its delicious mustard. Time to explore this ancient city and perhaps enjoy a mid-morning pastry! It's not long before we reach Paris where you may wish to dine in one of the cosy left bank bistros tonight. (BB)

DAY 8 Paris sightseeing & at leisure

Our sightseeing includes the ascent of the Eiffel Tower to the second level by elevator, views of Champs  Elysees, Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. Our  main highlight is a visit to Les Invalides, to visit the tomb of the Emperor  Napoleon Bonaparte, before free time. Tonight, perhaps enjoy a cabaret. (BB)

DAY 9 Depart Paris

Bid 'au revoir' as we transfer to Paris Charles de Gaulle  Airport for our return flight home. (BB)
